Previous working environments include construction shops and yards, refineries and offshore production facilities in the UK and various European countries. His name is Chris Dawson and he's registered with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer, is a Member of the British institute of NDT (MInstNDT) and has an HND in Metallurgy. He's totally familiar with all aspects of the principal NDT inspection techniques and qualified to PCN Level II in most of them - see panel left; He's fully conversant with specifications, computerised reporting systems and data collection; He's adept at interpreting P&IDs and construction drawings; He's expert in the generation of inspection isometrics and detail sketches; He's skilled in managing a multi-disciplined workforce and prioritising tasks; He's able to discuss technical issues and the implications of inspection results with other disciplines, including management and engineering support groups; He has a good working knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, fabrication methods and the oil and gas production process.
